In the footsteps of carpet weaving traditions…

“Hunarmand” Association and the “Silk Road” International Research Institute organized an expedition on the topic “Kashkadarya and Surkhandarya Carpet Weaving Art: Tradition and Modernity.”
During the expedition, the research group visited Jeynov village in the Mirishkor district of Kashkadarya. They studied the process of weaving traditional carpets, including “arabi,” “yaglama,” and “iroqi” styles woven by local masters – Ashurbibi momo and Khadicha momo.
These rare carpets are not only works of art adorned with national patterns, but they capture our history, culture, and spiritual heritage in one masterpiece.
